Davy Liu

Davy Liu is the founder of Kendu Kids and Kendu Films, a former Disney animator, author, filmmaker, and international speaker whose mission is to inspire the next generation through creative storytelling rooted in timeless biblical truth.

Born in Taiwan and raised in the United States, Davy became one of the first Taiwanese artists to join Walt Disney Feature Animation, contributing to beloved classics including Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, and Mulan. He later served as an Art Director at Industrial Light & Magic on Star Wars Episode I and worked with Warner Bros. Feature Animation before leaving Hollywood to pursue a greater calling.

In 2004, Davy founded Kendu Films with a bold vision: to create world-class stories that reflect the excellence of the Creator. Today, through Kendu Kids, he is reimagining Bible stories through the eyes of animals, creating books, films, educational resources, and live experiences that help children discover God’s Word in fresh and memorable ways.

Over the past fifteen years, Davy’s books have reached families around the world and have received recognition in China as award-winning children’s moral literature, demonstrating how creative excellence can communicate hope across cultures. His message has inspired audiences throughout Asia, North America, and beyond, including recent presentations to more than 1,700 pastors and ministry leaders, encouraging the Church to embrace creativity as a powerful tool for sharing the Gospel.

Known for his inspiring keynote, “From the Lion King to the King of Kings,” Davy challenges parents, educators, artists, and ministry leaders to pursue excellence in storytelling and to raise a generation of courageous creators. His newest workshop, “The Art of Raising an Artist,” equips parents to recognize, nurture, and prepare creatively gifted children for lives of purpose and professional impact in an AI-shaped world.

“If the world is willing to invest so much into telling stories that capture children’s hearts, how much more should we, as followers of Christ, pursue excellence in telling the greatest story ever told?”

Davy believes that children are shaped by the stories they hear—and that the greatest story ever told deserves the greatest creativity we can offer……You Kendu it.
